Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tailor to join our custom clothing studio located in Victoria, BC. The successful candidate will perform professional sewing, custom garment fitting, alterations and clothing finishing work for our clients.

Main Duties:

• Take accurate body measurements for custom‑made garments

• Cut fabric according to garment patterns and specifications

• Sew, assemble, fit and alter men’s and women’s clothing

• Perform hemming, resizing, restyling and complex garment alterations

• Select suitable threads, trims and supplies for each project

• Adjust patterns to fit individual customer body shapes

• Inspect finished garments to ensure high quality standards

• Communicate directly with customers to understand their custom requests

• Maintain sewing machines and tools; keep a clean and safe workshop

• Follow workplace safety rules at all times

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years proven working experience as a professional tailor

• Strong skills in custom garment making and complex clothing alterations

• Able to read, adjust and modify sewing patterns

• Hands‑on experience using industrial sewing machines

• Good communication skills to interact with customers

• Able to work independently and manage multiple orders under deadlines

• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform detailed hand‑sewing work

• Prior experience in custom suit / formal wear making is an asset
